Product Design
Role: UX Design
Product: Hugosave
Team: Atlas Consolidated
When I joined Atlas, the team was at an exciting stage of revamping the Hugosave app experience, product placement and user expectations. We focused on providing an enhanced version with more capabilities for users to embrace their financial journey.

Brief

As part of the product roadmap, Hugosave’s goal was to transform the app from a basic savings tool into a comprehensive wealthcare® platform that could support investments, savings, budgeting, spending, and rewards within a single, seamless user experience.

Objectives:
  • Meet evolving user expectations from a Fintech
  • Stay competitive in the industry
  • Increase user retention, engagement & lifetime value

What is Hugosave?

Hugosave empowers every Individual to spend, save, and invest confidently, effortlessly and sustainably through an inclusive and easy-to-understand Wealthcare® journey.

Features I spearheaded

Amongst our small UX group, we took the responsibility of handling different aspects of the product. Mine included features that were crucial to the inner workings of the app, of money going in and out.

Challenges

Cross functional collaboration
Being a small organisation, it was important to work in sync with each other in order to save precious time with aligned UX vision and development.

Compliance
Fintech applications handle sensitive user data and transactions. Ensuring the application complied with security and regulatory standards was paramount. This required constant vigilance and can sometimes limited design choices.

Data Visualisation
Fintech applications often deal with a lot of financial data. Presenting visualisation in a way that's easily understandable and actionable was crucial.

Edge cases
The app involved multi-step, complex user flows with numerous edge cases. Every flow was prone to multiple user choices, error or limitations. Ensuring intuitiveness and error-resistance was a significant challenge.

User Trust

In the end, in Fintech, it all comes down to trust and competence. The end result needed to be transparent, trustworthy and secure.

Scheduling

We enquired on defining the objective behind scheduling investments.
To understand why people love or avoid them.

1. Why do people schedule payments?
2. Why do people don’t schedule payments?
3. What are some of the concerns regarding scheduling?
4. What attracts or makes it inviting for people to begin scheduling?
5. What aspects ease their schedule journey?
6. What makes a person prefer one investment method over another?
7. What aspects should we retain in out feature?
8. Anything else.
